As the school year comes to a close with the last of classes being over, The Watson is wrapping up our most recent season of writing as well. This year was, for everyone, extraordinarily challenging and presented a myriad of hurdles, one of these being a high potential for isolation. We hope that this year, more than any other, The Watson has been a point of connection and community for all of Queen’s history. This year our increased engagement in content and viewership was an exceptionally encouraging reminder that community can be created no matter the circumstances or distance. We would love to take an opportunity to thank and show appreciation to the students who wrote terrific submissions to the blog this year, especially those who contributed to our “Study Abroad” series, which provided incredible insight into Queen’s exchange experiences.
Although this chapter of the blog content production has finished, it will still remain accessible to students throughout the summer, as submissions will remain open. We hope that during the summer and as we enter the new school year, The Watson continues to be a community space for those in the History department. Next year will bring exciting new series and opportunities to The Watson while continuing the goals we have embarked on this year, making The Watson even more interactive and reflective of the Queen’s community. Make sure to keep an eye out for everything that is to come!
