When: March 30, 2017
Where: W.D. Jordan Special Collections at Douglas Library (2nd floor)
The students of Prof. Maynard’s HIST 312 Canadian Social History class are proud to present, “The Taste of the Library!”
“The Taste of the Library,” a collaborative exhibit produced by a Canadian social history class and displayed at W.D. Jordan Special Collections, uses cookbooks and various artifacts to explore topics in history such as nationalism, women and community, the business of food, Aboriginal foodways and our very own local food history in Kingston, Ontario. Besides delicious recipes, these cookbooks proved to provide an unlikely source of insights into Canadian history and the lives of everyday Canadians.
